Food Sector Opportunity Program
Offered twice a year, in Spring and Fall, this comprehensive course prepares students for success in food manufacturing and related fields. Taught in part by regulators, this in an intensive weeklong exploration of all aspects of food manufacturing.
Nx Level Business Planning “Tilling the Soil of Opportunity”
Also offered twice a year, typically immediately following the FSOP, this course in geared toward agriculture related businesses, and allows participants to complete a workable business plan in peer group, which provides encouragement and support. This course has been presented one evening a week for 8-10 weeks, but can be adjusted to a one week intensive.
Garden and Greenhouse Workshops
Offered during the growing season, a variety of learning opportunities are available in TCEDC’s greenhouse and 1 acre garden. Special emphasis is placed on foods adapted to the region.
Food Center Nutrition Classes
From Kid’s Cooking Camp, to Elders Diabetes Prevention, to nutrition classes offered to recipients of (WIC) Women Infants and Children Food Supplement Program, TCEDC has developed curricula which are adaptable to any group needing a hands on experience with healthy eating, cooking and nutrition.
Food Center Preservation Workshop
Presented at Harvest time, this two-day workshop offered hands on experience in canning, freezing, fermenting and drying.
